BTCnews V7.6 Update is Out With a Plethora of Great New Features!

V7.6 is out with numerous new features and enhancements. Virtually every section of the app is quickly accessible from the enhanced Navigation Ribbon. Customize your preferences from the settings menu (hamburger icon). See the partial list of new features below and try them out.

  • New Navigation Ribbon – for quick navigation to virtually any section of the application (located right underneath the top navbar)

  • A new Analytics Only page – with just purely analytical articles, accessible directly from the updated Navigation Ribbon.

  • An updated Financial Info Section – quick access to all financial information, including a brand new page – a detailed snapshot of your preferred coin, also accessible directly from the Navigation Ribbon.

  • A New Snapshot Page – a detailed real-time snapshot of your preferred Coin with Financials, a Chart, and latest News, accessible from the Financial Info Popup.

  • Quickly swipe back – from anywhere on (almost) any story back to the home page.

  • A fix to badging the app icon – with a proper count of new stories since your last visit. The count resets to zero every time you open the app, and also every night at 3am. On by default, can be turned off from the Appearance Customization page.

BTCnews V7.5 is Out With Great New Feature – Never Miss Breaking News!

V7.5 has just been released with a great new feature – **_Never Miss Breaking News **_ . You can now badge the app icon with the count of new stories added since your last visit, updated in real time. To enable this feature, go to Customize Appearance in the Settings menu. If you are not set for auto-updates, you can update via the App Store.

Also, not new, but in case you missed it, tapping the quote icon in the top right of the navbar will give you access to an entire section of financial information, charts and graphs.

More exciting features coming soon. Is there any feature you would like to see in the app? Suggestions are always welcome! By all means don’t hesitate to reach out via the feedback link in the Settings menu.

BTCnews V6.5 Is Out With A Cool New Feature

Hello All – V6.5 has just been released with a brand new feature – a **_spiffy navigation ribbon **_ at the top of the homepage for quick navigation to the sections you visit the most, as well as to the full text search bar. The ribbon scrolls up with the page so as not to take up screen real-estate when you are scrolling through stories, but will always be there at the top of the page. Navigation to the remaining sections can be found either in the dropdown (upside down yellow triangle in center of navbar) or by tapping the quote button at the top right for financial pages. If you are not set for auto-updates, you can update via the App Store.

If there are new features you would like to see added, or new quality sources not included yet, by all means reach out via the feedback link in the settings menu. As this is a one person endeavor, I cannot promise anything, but always welcome new ideas that are feasible.

XYZnews App News & Updates

Hello All – As a small token of appreciation to BTCnews’ loyal users, enjoy an Ad-Free weekend with the BTCnews app! For the next 48 hours or so, BTCnews will be completely ad-free – enjoy the full screen, un-interrupted experience (if you want to go completely full screen, go in to “settings/customize app” and set it to hide the navigation bar when scrolling). If ads are still showing, remove the app from the background and re-launch it.

A new version was released yesterday to address an issue a very small subset of users were experiencing. Please update regardless if you haven’t otherwise as it is what will allow you to enjoy the add-free weekend.

On a personal note: I apologize for needing to display ads in the app, and don’t like having them anymore than you do, and would much rather not have to. However as this is a one person endeavor, and there are definitely costs involved in running this, ads are unfortunately a necessity. Rather than charging upfront for an ad-free app, I chose to leave it as an optional one time purchase.

And as always, if you like the app, a positive written review would be very very much appreciated, as is any feedback/suggestions/requests sent to me via the feedback link. This is a one person endeavor, after 5+ years the app is mature now, and I am always looking for ways to make it even better.

BTCnews App News & Updates

V6.1 is out! If you haven’t updated yet to V6.0/V6.1 please do so to enjoy the enhancements, improved performance and stability.

Also, Dark Mode has not disappeared I- it- now that Apple has incorporated it in to iOS 13, BTCnews uses Apple’s implementation, with better and more options. To set it up go in to ‘Customize App’ (tap hamburger menu icon in top left and choose customize app) and you will see on the page the Dark Mode section where you can choose one of three options: “System” – to follow the system-wide iOS setting, “Dark” – to always display in dark mode regardless of the system-wide setting, and likewise, “Light” – to always display in light mode.

BTCnews App Important Message

Dear BTCnews Users,

Our NewsFeed database, which holds all stories in the NewsFeed is exploding in size, primarily due to very old saved stories, that as a bonus feature have never been deleted. This has negative impact on the performance of the app (as well as a nifty new feature coming very soon), and is not sustainable. Normally stories are kept for 45 days if nobody saves them; some of the existing ones are a few years old, irrelevant, and possibly saved by users who no longer use the system.

So, to ameliorate the situation, in a week, on the weekend of June 28, all stories older than 6 months will be purged from the system. This will probably not affect many users, and will pave the way for better performance and new features to come. If there are older stories that you would like to keep, please save or send youself a link to the original story on the web.
